Starting with the 2026 season, families and residents may sponsor a banner for $150, which helps cover the cost of printing and installation.
Each banner measures 24” x 48” and includes:
- The service member’s name
- A photo (preferably in uniform)
- The military branch served
- The sponsor’s name
Eligibility Requirements
- The service member or veteran must be a current or former Plainfield resident.
- Applicants must provide a high-resolution digital image (.png or .jpg) or a physical photograph.
- Applicants must submit a completed application form, a photo, and proof of military service (DD-214 Discharge Form) (please redact all Social Security numbers).
- Payment must be submitted as a personal check made out to “City of Plainfield, NJ” with “Plainfield Hometown Heroes” written in the memo line.
Checks must be delivered to the Office of Communications, City Hall, 515 Watchung Avenue, Plainfield, NJ.
